Synopsis

After Effects deals with a reality no mother expects to ever experience, the news she never dreamt of hearing. Uncompromising, unflinching, unexpected After Effects stares down the face of an evil/enemy/crisis/epidemic that threatens to engulf an entire generation leaving pain, anguish and hurt in its wake.

Background

In 2006, the 19 year old boyfriend of Mark One’  eldest niece was murdered. On the day of the murder, Mark One arrived to see mother after mother including his own, in floods of tears, collapsing with the emotions of the loss of a child.

In 2007, the 13 year-old brother of Mark One’s youngest niece was arrested for murder, his mother also filled with the pain of death, erupted into what seemed like an ever flowing flood of tears.

Again in 2007, a close friend’s relative aged 16 was murdered visiting the cinema. This reoccurring nightmare of destruction, which impacts families and friends, drove Mark One to action and After Effects was conceived.

We live in the After Effects of murder and must do everything we can within our power to bring about change, a change in the mindset of those who resort to guns and knives to resolve conflict.
